Clearly quality of education is of vital interest to students and parents, and we have a long tradition of excellence.
And in a small town, the school plays a role as a community hub: a center for activities, events, pride in the accomplishment of teachers and students, and collective delight during periods such as our girls' basketball team's magical journey to the Indiana State Basketball Tourney's final game when every man, woman and child traveled in caravan to Indianapolis.
An inherent advantage of small town education is the opportunity for participation and individual attention that can literally get lost in giant school corporations. Union City combines a long-standing commitment to excellence and a can-do attitude about preparing our students to be fully competitive in both higher education and in the 21st Century job market.

The demands placed on teachers in 21st Century education are wide and deep. Budgets for payroll are limited. Morale-building is its own goal. Union City's Alumni Association and Education Foundation provide financial support for educational projects and personal skill development that would not otherwise be possible because of budget constraints.
